good questions peridriga! here are some answers:

1) The newest release will be installed by default but you can switch to the what's in their subversion repo using our tools.

2) We're still working out all the details for upgrades. Given how easy it is for users to switch to newer releases, we expect that will be left for users to do.

3) You can install as many applications as you like. BUT, what we're aiming at with the base container is that one application will run workably. If you want to install more, you'll likely have to upgrade to a bigger container.

Which version of DJango are you planning on running in the containers?
Will there be any choices in which versions are run .9x or CVS?
How often will upgrades be done to the containers? Can we choose to NOT upgrade to avoid some compatibility issues?
How many different DJango sites can you run in one (gs)?

Thanks for the awesome feedback! Here are some quick answers;
Tony - you will be able to use MySQL or PostgreSQL.
Damien - We're still looking into a Trac solution, we're not planning on supporting it in this Container though.

Last year you were talking about a Python container:
http://weblog.mediatemple.net/weblog/2006/12/04/grid-improvements-new-gmr-release/

Will we be able to run Trac in this container?

Will MySQL be the only DB option? Or will there be a PostgreSQL option?

> The Django GridContainers will have the newest python builds

Cool! I'm not sure I can join beta-testing program (although I have Python knowledge and experience with Django deploying, I have only one public application to host - my own blog, which is not very popular at the time) - and if I can, I'd like to do that (I just need to order my own (gs) and fill application?). But I have 1 question - pgsql is not yet available as choice for DB? I think it is something popular in django community...

The Django GridContainers will have the newest python builds and soon we'll be updating our cluster root to the latest stable build.

Thanks for your interest in the project Alexander!

Hi, guys. Do you plan to update your python version? Currently (2.3.5) it is a bit too old. I'm interested in your service, but with python 2.5 or at least 2.4...
