Although we have noticed a significant decrease in new reports, (mt) Engineers are continuing their efforts to investigate the reported latency issues on (gs) Grid-Service Cluster 05 to find where the root cause lies. They have employed the assistance of our datacenter staff to assist with reviewing our internal infrastructure/network, and we are also continuing to ask customers for the following information who are still experiencing latency reaching their services:

Your IP address.
The results of a traceroute to your (gs) Grid-Service Access Domain. Please see our KnowledgeBase article for more information on performing a traceroute.

We will post another update to this status page at 5:00PM PST unless additional information becomes available before that time.

A project long in the running, we’re happy to announce Mr. Zeldman and his crew at A List Apart are officially moved over to (mt) Media Temple. This makes (mt) Media Temple the home to all of Jeffrey Zeldman’s web properties including Happy Cog and An Event Apart.

Elfyourself.com is Officially a Record Breaker.

Since (mt) has hosted it for two years, we knew ‘07 was the biggest elfing season ever. Today, Advertising Age chimed in with a great elfyourself.com article and video showing how it’s become the all-time, record breaking, viral sensation to date.

One in 10 Americans visited elfyourself.com to make 122 million elves this holiday season (that doesn’t include what we saw for scroogeyourself.com). For (mt), it was exciting to see the stats surge and our (dpv) Nitro’s stream holiday fun for all (we’ll have a case study online soon).

We’d like to say thanks to the teams at Office Max, Toy and the wizards at EVB for choosing (mt) as their trusted hosting provider. For two years in a row, it’s been a pleasure working with them and we’re proud to be a part of internet history.

Eventful End of Year!

As we round out the biggest (mt) year to date, we wanted you to know about our last few events! The first one is FITC Hollywood (Oct 22-23). If you haven’t got your tickets for FITC Hollywood yet, be sure to pick those up before they sell out. We’ll be throwing a party for the event on October 23rd at Little Temple in Silver Lake. If you’re in LA, stop by and have a drink on us. RSVP instructions below.

Following FITC, our Lead Technologist, Chris Lea, will be speaking at Startup LA (Oct. 26th) on the importance of scalability for your start up venture. If you’re thinking about starting up a site or app, this is a great place to learn what it takes.

Ryan Carson is coming to the US to blow us away in NYC at his Future of Web Design Conference (Nov. 7-8). (mt) Media Temple will be blowing out the season with the closing party at Rebel NYC! The featured acts are Kerouac, Alex English and 33HZ. If you’re an NYC (mt) client, we’ll have a special limited guest list so you can attend.

They’re purveyors of an incredible framework, have excellent musical taste, and are all-around great guys with a dedicated tribe. (mt) Welcomes SlideShowPro

We are fortunate here at (mt) that a lot of cool things are being served from within our network daily. One such project that has recently moved over is the über-cool, super-popular SlideShowPro from Dominey Design. According to founder Todd Dominey:

When the time came to move our business from a shared hosting environment to a dedicated space, the first company we thought of was Media Temple. Considering the e-commerce nature of our site, any downtime would have constituted lost revenue, so moving our entire operation was hardly a small task. Media Temple was there for us, and helped make it happen without skipping a beat. Couldn’t be more pleased.

We’ve been fans of the excellent work coming from Dominey Design for some time now and are excited to have this hosted with us. SlideShowPro is housed on one of our (dv) Dedicated-Virtual servers.
