Friday, November 9th, 2007 at 11:29 am

foamee.comThe ever prodigious Dan Cederholm of SimpleBits fame has developed a new site called Foamee. Foamee makes use of the Twitter APIs to help you keep track of who owes you a beer, and vice-versa. We here at (mt) think that’s pretty darn cool.

The site was developed on and is hosted by (mt) Media Temple’s (gs) Grid-Service, so go over and check it out! And congratulations to Dan for a very cool idea and his always impeccable execution.

With the launch of this new tool the MySQL GridContainers now offer all the control you want from a dedicated MySQL resource without any of the maintenance hassles of a dedicated database server! More MySQL GridContainer features are on the horizon. Let us know what you’d like to see next in the comments!

You may have already heard, but for those who haven’t, you can buy a domain, reboot your server, add emails, pay your bill, get support and more - all from your iPhone. The feedback has been very flattering and we’re ecstatic that many of you already like it as much as we do.

From an idea hatched by our CEO to the team who developed, tested and pushed it out; well done gentleman, well done. More features are coming and, as always, feedback is always welcome.

See screen shots and login to the iPhone AccountCenter here.

(dpv) Nitro is Now Available!

Tuesday, July 24th, 2007 at 12:33 pm

Nitro

It’s finally here and waiting to tame any demanding app, site or dev team! With its 15,000 RPM SAS drives (one of the fastest I/O in the industry), 300GB RAID 1 drives, 4GB of RAM, a 4-Core Xeon processor, and stackable, you’ll have your hardware needs covered.

But what sets this server apart, besides the price and no set-up fees, is that it’s a single-tenant virtual server that’s easily configured any way you see fit. If your current (dv) needs room to grow, you now have a portable OS that can be rapidly moved with virtually no downtime. Need to develop or deploy several servers, now you can with unlimited Plesk licenses. All of this and more is our goal for the (dpv) Nitro: Powerful, yet easy to operate. Diesel, Mashable and Plasq (MySkitch) agree and we think you will too.
